Geometry

Changes!

In this second semester, I have made the choice to discontinue math studies in class form and have now started online classes. I am taking second semester geometry online and I'm doing better in math now than I have all year! Doing an online math class has helped me learn at my own pace and I'm now getting ahead, most likely, I'm going to finish my online class before school ends.

One topic that I enjoyed working on was 3D images. I enjoyed it because it can bring an artistic aspect to math and add depth to artwork. One piece of evidence that I can use for this is a drawing that I made using 3D images. This is one of the things that I was able to understand most during this semester.

A problem of the week that I found most difficult would be Luther's Proof. It's quite the concept and it took me while to understand it completely, but after thinking it over for a while, I was able to finish the Problem of the Week. One of the techniques I used to help me complete the POW, was always reminding  myself to look at the problem and try different ways to solve it.

When I see the words "Math is beautiful" I think that yes, in it's own way, math is beautiful. Math may not be my best subject and I may not fully understand it, but that's the beauty of it. Math is never fully understood. If math was fully understood, what would be the fun of it? It wouldn't perplex us and make us think harder. The true beauty of math is the mystery that it holds.

One concept that we have gone over that has made me see the beauty of math was building equations. Building equations wasn't only just hard to do, it was satisfying when it was done because I could see all that went in to making that equation work.
